So, I just celebrated my 25th birthday and it was great! My mom threw me a party and I had a lot of friends, family, and neighbors come celebrate it with me! The only way it could have been better was if Shelley and Deven and the babies could have been here to spend it with me.

Ok a quick update on my life....

The Sunday after Girl's Camp the 1st counselor of the bishopric asked me if I would be willing to serve as the Beehive Advisor, and of course I immediately said YES! I have been having fun so far, it has been a month now, it is GREAT!

WHen Shelley came to visit, during one of the babies' afternoon naps she made it her mission to find me a better job so I could quit Opinionology. During 1 nap she managed to completely reconstruct my resume and make it more up to date with what people want to see a resume look like, she found 24 jobs for the Alpine School District, AND the next day I got called for an interview and then I got a phone call and I did a phone interview, so anyway, I am now a supervisor/ para educator for ATEC, which is the Alpine Transition and Education Center. I supervise the Special Needs adults as they do their jobs, I LOVE IT! If anyone wants to know more details, call me or ask me when I see you next and I will tell you all about it, I love talking about my job! My clients are SO FUN, my Co-workers are GREAT, and my boss is one of the BEST!

This was the leader song for the Miss Shalom Pageant. I wrote a song to the tune "Party in the USA" by Miley Cyrus, I titled it Party at Camp Shalom- Pretty fantastic is you ask me! I will try to upload the video! Yes i am the one with the blue hair!

Girl's Camp Report

Ok, so after spending months planning for Girl's Camp and stressing about making it a good and fun week for the girls in the ward, I finally got to go and it was a success!! We all met at the Stake Center at 6:00 am on Tuesday, (I was up at 4:00), but no worries, I started my day off right with a 44 oz Diet Coke! We drove up to the beautiful Mia Shalom campsite! I LOVE it up there! After we unpacked and got camp set up we got to start the great experience! From the moment we got up there we were having fun and laughing! We practiced our FABULOUS ward skit to introduce our tribe, The Golden Touch! I got to be a Virtuous Super Hero, and that is always awesome. We had some AWESOME tribal necklaces that the Young Women's President in our ward got for us, and we had some great devotionals from the girls and the Young Women's Presidency. We played some insane games and laughed so much! We had some awesome experiences where a special spirit was definitely felt. The leaders and girls I was privileged to go up with were awesome, some of the best people I know! I had so much fun and I am so lucky I was able to be called to go and serve these amazing young women who have definitely touched my life! I have some great pictures and videos that will be added at a later time, when the computer wants to cooperate! PLEASE CHECK BACK!!!

OK, it has been a long time since I have made a post, but here is a quick update of my life....

I am working at Opinionology (a survey center), not the best, but it is a job.

I am still taking care of Aunt Jewel.

I am the Assistant Camp Director in the ward and I have been crazy busy planning for camp, we go to camp the last week of July which is sneaking up quickly!

I am playing with the nieces and nephews every chance I get!

We went to the balloons for the 4th of july, it was so fun! I loved the Coke balloon which was new this year!!

Ok, it has been forever, so here is an update on what I have been up to lately. I was working at Boomerang Books, but then got laid off due to lack of sales, so now I am working at Opinionology (a survey center) and still taking care of dear Aunt Jewel.

I have been called as the Assistant Camp Director in the ward and the camp preparations are underway and I am loving it, stressed, but loving it!

For those of you who don't know, I quit my job at Wendy's (THANK GOODNESS!). I have 2 new jobs! I am doing some private CNA care for my Dad's Aunt Jewel, and I got a job at Boomerang Bookstore! Boomerang Books is AWESOME and I love both new jobs! They keep me busy, but the checks will make it all worth while! :) Sa YAY ME for having 2 great jobs! :)

My sister Shelley had her babies on my birthday, and so my mom and I drove down to California at 3 am on monday morning, we got to the hospital at 1 pm, just after the babies were born! I was able to stay and keep my mom company until this morning, and I loved being able to see the new babies! Kasen Gordon Stephens and Remy Elizabeth Stephens were born October 11, 2010- Kasen is 5 lbs 6 oz, Remy is 4 lbs 10 oz!

Trauma, Horror, and Tears

My Most Traumatic Experience This Year............

(Warning: The pictures are not pretty, proceed with caution, and don't blame me if they make you sick!) :)

Ok, so for people who don't know about the story, I went to California with my mom, my sister, and her 4 children to visit my sister who has recently moved to Huntington Beach.

The trip was going great, until the day at the beach. Ok, the beach was a blast, however, the sunscreen I used was a generic brand, and I was unaware that the generic brands don't really protect you like the big name brands.... so even though I had sunscreen on and I was re-applying, I got burned, I got FRIED!!!!

So the rest of the trip I was miserable, I had blisters on both of my legs (which I have posted pictures of), blisters on my chest, and blisters on my back (I do not have pictures of anything on my chest or back, but if you see me in person, you can see the 2 lovely scars on my back) therefore, I could not sleep, I could not lay down! I spent my nights trying to sleep in a sitting position on chairs, it was miserable.

When we got home from our trip on a saturday evening, I was dying. My feet were so swollen because the blisters were cutting off the circulation, and I could not feel my feet.... So at 11:00 that Saturday night, my mom took me to the ER and then.......

When they finally called me back and took me to a bed in the ER, the doctor came and looked at my legs and ripped the blister right off of my left leg, I started to bawl, it hurt so bad, then of course cause that was not bad enough, he removed the junk from the wound, shoved it in my face and said "This is just bacteria build up, this is where infections start!"

Thank goodness for the sweet nurse who finally spoke up and said, "She is clearly in pain, can we give her something?" Then of course the JERK of a doctor sighed and said, "I guess so."

While we were waiting for the morphine to kick in (by the way, I had to get the shot in my blistered arm) (before anything started to touch the pain I had to have 2 shots and 2 doses through an IV) the JERK of a doctor came up to me as I am in tears and says "Well do you just want to do this yourself, it is just like popping a zit." (And NO, it was not like popping a zit!)

So after the morphine finally started to take the edge off, the 2 nurses had to come and de-blister me and dress the wounds (I had severe 2nd degree burns). I felt it all and I was bawling, but at least they were sympathetic and were telling me "I am so sorry, we are trying to be gentle." They removed blisters from my back, chest, and legs.

After being skinned alive, I was sent home with a prescription for percocets (which were my best friend for a while), some ointments, gauze pads, tongue depressors, coban, tweezers, and scissors...... The Nurse sent us home after telling me that the skin around the wounds will eventually blister and I will have to remove them my self.

Thank goodness for my mom! She was such a good sport, she dressed the wounds on my back and chest, and for the first few days she even did my leg wounds, and it was not a fun job, but she did it anyway, she was the greatest, I could not have gotten through it without her!

And Shell, Just because this horrific experience happened when I was visiting you, don't think for one second I won't be out there again soon! (I will just bring Coppertone sunscreen!)

see how swollen my poor feet are.... (thanks to Aunt JoDee for taking me to get the fabulous pedicure, we went to Le Nails and the lady did a great job, I told her just to stay below the dressings, she was very nice and very gentle, and it felt great for my sad feet!)
Here is a close up, see all the little blisters, I had the remove those with the scissors and tweezers, I was bandaged from my ankle to my knee at one point!
Getting better..... (just a little leakage at this point)
YAY!!! All Better!! I wore dressings on my legs for almost a month! My back healed after a couple of weeks, my chest healed after about 1 week, but the legs!! Oi!

I am all better now and I will be the Poster Child for Coppertone Water Babies Sunscreen (that is the sunscreen that the EMT who was helping out at the ER told me was the best).

And what about that EVIL JERK of a doctor????? I filed a complaint with the hospital, the Doctor in charge of complaints in the ER called me and had me tell him what happened, then he said, "Well, I will talk to him." Yeah, thanks for nothing, JERK! Oh well, I did what I could, but I also told him that if I ever go back to that ER and he is my Doctor, he will not touch me! I will not go through that EVER again, talk about BAD bedside manner!!

So, that is the most TRAUMATIC and HORRIFIC experience I have had all year (lets hope nothing worse happens!)

Finally Got A Job!

I am happy to announce that I FINALLY got a job! I was working temporarily at my cousin's bookstore, which was SOOOOOOO fun! I loved it, but unfortunately I am not needed long-term.. :(. But I did get a job working with my friend Brandi at the Wendy's right off the main street exit in Lehi, it is not a CNA or Phlebotomy job, but it is a way to get the bills paid! I will be working the evenings, so from 5 pm -close (which is about 1:30 or 2 am) so that will be interesting!

Ok so on Thursday I went with my mom up to Logan to see my Uncle Nate in his Independence Day Concert with the choir that he is in (we love going to his concerts and never miss a show!) So the special guest for this concert was PETER CETERA! My mom and I didn't know that until we got there, and it was so much fun! My grandparents didn't like him though, they said it was just noise and my grandpa said he was uplifted by the choir then shot down into the cellar by the "other guy"! It was so funny!!!! My mom and I really enjoyed the concert, both parts, and it was so fun to see Grandma and Grandpa, and talk to Uncle Nate after the concert was over!

So today for Mother's Day I went over to Andrea's house to make Ginger Snaps.... I started to mix the ingredients and cook them, to my dismay the cookies did not turn out! I was befuddled about the! I couldn't figure out what I had done to mess up the cookies, I followed the recipe to a T and did everything Andrea told me to! Andrea then made a new batch and they worked out wonderfully! The Professional Ginger Snap Maker decided that the reason why mine did not turn out and hers did is because she told me to used the butter instead of her shortening (she has done it many times), but the butter she had in her fridge was LIGHT MARGARINE! That is why they didn't turn out, so it was not MY fault, but really SHAUN'S fault because he was the one who bought the LIGHT MARGARINE! (hahaha).

So these are my cookies looking sad and rejected in the garbage can... (boo hoo hoo)

And these are Andrea's cookies, beautiful and perfect, a true work of art! (booooooo) (just kidding andrea! I love you!)
So the lesson in this sad story? DON'T BUY LIGHT MARGARINE! (at least don't use it to bake cookies!) :)

Ok so I had another job interview for a hospice company here in Provo, the interview was on friday..... They told me they should have a decision by the end of this week, but the waiting is the WORST part!!!! AHHHHHH!!!!!! This week is going by so slow, and I don't want to get my hopes, but I think I kind of have, so lets cross our fingers!!!!

Ok ok ok, I know it has been forever since I have made a post, so here it goes.... Since my last post I have had some good news.... and some bad news....

The bad news happened first so lets just get it out of the way... I have recently become unemployed..... Long story, don't really want to go into it right now, so yeah..... It has been a pain finding a job right now, but I am working on it.

Now for the good news.... Because some people I know BUG me every time I see them (out of the kindness of their hearts... Courtney....) to get my nursing degree, I have taken one small step towards that goal since I have become unemployed.... I started a Phlebotomy class..... I will finish the class tomorrow---- EEK!!!! I have been a human pincushion and I have even had the pleasure to draw blood from friends who were kind enough to come to my class yesterday..... Brave Souls! Tomorrow I will take my skills test and then I will be certified in the State of Utah as a phlebotomist! WOO HOO! I am slowly getting closer to that pesky nursing degree.... Hey if anyone is brave and has good veins, I still need a pin cushion for tomorrow!!! Hehe. I tried to take a picture of my bruises on each arm and hand, but of course my skin is too light and the picture didn't work out.... But I am sure you all can imagine!!!

Ok, I know it has been FOREVER since I have made a post, but I promise you, I am still alive, I have been CRAZY busy working, and babysitting for sisters, and working, and babysitting for sisters..... as you can see, that is my routine.

I am going to try to post more often, but lately, nothing exciting has happened, therefore, I have had nothing good to post. Keep checking though and hopefully 2010 will be full of fun and exciting events to talk about!

Ok, I don't have pictures to post right now because I still can't use my own computer, but I wanted to fill you all in on my fun fun life.... I have been working like crazy but I took the weekend off to go to VIVA Salt Lake City. It was a huge concert at the Gallaven Center in SLC. The bands that performed were: Split Lid, Mullet Hatchet, Borke City, Veer Union, Pop Evil, 10 Years, and Royal Bliss. I went with a bunch of friends and had a blast. It was an all day event and it was a great concert (probably the last one I will be going to for a while because my concert buddy is going to have a baby so she won't be able to go with me) :( But anywho- just wanted to let you all know that I AM still alive and I am going to try to be better about my blog!! Love you all!!

Saturday was my Birthday. The day started out with a Birthday party for Keagan. Later during the day, while the BYU game was happening, Andrea went shopping with me to spend some birthday cash my mom and dad had given my to buy some clothes. It was so fun to be able to go on a shopping spree with one of my best friends for my birthday. When the game was over, Andrea and I met my mom and dad at Brick Oven for dinner (Andrea was my date). LuJean Olpin Sundberg passed away on June 16, 2008 at 12:32 am.
My grandma was the greatest woman ever and I am going to miss her so much. I feel so lucky to have been able to care for her these past two years, she taught me so much. I am so happy that she was able to let go of her pain and join her husband and parents in the next life. Grandma was such a trooper these past few months and especially yesterday, the 6 year anniversary of her husbands death. It puts me at peace knowing that they are finally together again and she is no longer in pain. I will never forget this wonderful woman and the many ways she has touched my heart and changed my life.

I Love You Grandma.

I am sad to announce that I was in a car accident on Friday May 30. I am ok but look what happened to my car!!! I was innocently driving to work, pulling into the parking lot when a lady backed right into me.... I spent the rest of the day waiting for the cops to show up to make a report and they never came... So, this is my sad news and I hope you will all join me in my short moment of wallowing and mourning over the damage of my car............................................. Ok, that is enough time, life goes on and thank goodness for insurance!!

Expanding My Horizons

My best friend Crystal has dedicated alot of time this year to teaching me alot of new things, among these are: Fishing, Cars, and Skateboarding, and of course more to come! Here are some pictures of what I have done so far!

We went fishing at Salem Pond and Crystal, her brother Cody, and Cody's friend Nick taught me how to cast the line out. They told me next time I have to put the worm on the hook, EWWW!!!

Crystal took me to the Car Show this year and these are a couple of cars we saw.

This is me on a skateboard for the first time EVER! It was so scary I was worried i was going to fall aon my butt! However, I survived and I am getting better.....

Crew Fest 2008!

So, my new goal, to get to Crew Fest this year! Crew Fest is a concert hosted by Kber 101, this year it is going to be AMAZING!!! The bands attending are: Motley Crue (DUH!), Buckcherry, Papa Roach, Sixx AM, and Trapt! Crystal and I are determined to go! I can't wait!!!

Sudoku Sickness

Not too long ago, Andrea taught me how to play Sudoku and I was hooked! I immediately went to the Dollar Store and bought the "America's Best Sudoku Puzzles " books, Volumes 3-8 (I couldn't find volumes 1 or 2). Yesterday I was over at Andrea's house visiting with her and playing with Max when Sudoku became the subject of our conversation. Later that night I realized I actually have not played Sudoku for quite a while, so I pulled out my books and began the puzzles. The next thing I knew, it was time to drive down to Grandma's and get her up for the day. Since then I have had a Sudoku book and a Mechanical Pencil within arm's length at all times.... THE SICKNESS HAS RETURNED!!!

Crystal Lynn and My Boys

Ok, so since nothing exciting has happened to me lately, I thought I would fill you all in on Crystal and the boys. Crystal, my Best Friend, has two little boys who are so stinkin' cute! They are my "Other Nephews" and Crystal is my "Other Sister" haha. She may kill me if she knows I posted pictures of her!!
The picture above was taken on Crystal's 21st Birthday when I took her to Brick Oven for lunch. She got mad because the staff came to sing to her per my request... the crown she is wearing says "21st Birthday", she also had a bright Pink sash that said "Birthday Girl".
This Picture of Crystal was taken on a nice summer day (do you remember what those felt like?), we were just sitting on her front porch so the kids could play outside, I don't remember what was so funny....
The Sleepy boy is Justin. He is 3 years old, almost 4!! I can't believe how fast he is growing up! I remember him when he was almost 2, when Crystal and I became friends.
And this little... I mean Chunker Boy is Ashtin. I love this kid! He is 1 year old and I remember when he was born! He was a little guy, and now he is huge! He is so cute and we love to make him laugh, which is not hard at all!!

Ok, so I was loving the nice weather last wek, so the snow we recieved this week was a bit depressing! During the nice weather I was able to Get some cute pictures of my nephews and even one of my mom (she may kill me for putting this on here...)
This is Max swinging at the park in our neighborhood. He loved it and was laughing the whole time, the kid is not scared of anything! (Must get that from his dad cause his mom is a CHICKEN!) haha

This is Easton on the swing, he was laughing because I was pretending that he kicked me and he thought it was great! (why do all little kids think that is so funny?)

Last week Julie brought her kids over and Grandma pulled out the bubbles. Easton would not blow them but he loved chasing them aroung and popping them!

Ok, so for those of you who have seen our family blog, you have probably already seen this picture, but I couldn't resist posting this on my own blog... to explain the picutre, my brother in law Deven had his laptop over at our house on Easter and he has a photo program that uses special effects to distort the pictures his computer camera shows. The little boys were laughing so hard and as soon as my mom walked over to the computer, Deven took the picutre! She hates it but it was so funny I couldn't help myself!!!

So as most of you know, I am a home-health aide for my Grandma. If you have never taken care of a grandparent wih alzheimer's, you are missing out! (hahaha) But honestly, my grandma is a sweetheart, with the exception that she hits, bites, pinches, scratches, kicks, spits, and screams when I make her do things such as take a shower or, well,... stand up.
A funny thing happened yesterday... My mom went with me to Grandma's to get her out of bed and ready for the day because lately she has been too hard to do it myself. We got down there and Grandma was in bed, so Mom woke her up and we got her up and dressed and ready for the day, with much difficulty might I add, she was keeping her jaw clenched and her eyes shut. Grandma was very out of it and not making any sense, which was normal for her lately, but this just seemed weird... So i kept saying "Grandma," waiting for an answer.... Never got one... Then I said "Grandma, Grandma, talk to me, it's Ashley" Well, you know she answered me then, she meant business by saying "WHAT??!!??!!" in a very mean tone, then I said "Well, hey, there ya are, thats the Grandma I know and love" (my mom was juat laughing at this point) and Grandma muttered under her breath "Oh shut up".
I tell ya, she is so stinking cute, even when she is being a little meanie and making my job difficult, I can't help but love her! (MORE STORIES TO COME IF SOMETHING ELSE FUNNY HAPPENS WITH HER)

TODAY I TOOK THE PLUNGE! I CUT MY HAIR!

AFTER THE CUT!

For those of you who don't know, I have been going to the same hair stylist since I was 13 years old and I have loved him! I have never had a problem going in and saying "Mark, do whatever you want!", and not loving it! The only problem is that Mark is quite expensive and i can't afford him right now, but i did need a hair cut! Because of my lovely stubborn-ness, it has been almost 2 years since I got my hair cut, the last time I went to Mark. So my sister Andrea and her friend Ashleigh convinced me to go and get my hair cut by Ashleigh's niece Brittany. So I did it, although I was experiencing MAJOR "new-stylist anxiety". It was not as traumatic as I thought it would be, after all it is just hair, but let's just say it was a good thing I did not look at the pile of hair on the ground or I would have thrown up. We estimated that she ended up cutting off about a foot and a half, 18 inches!

Spring Break/ Reading

My Spring Break, so far, has been spent in Logan visting my grandparents, which was so much fun, my cousin Tristan came by and brought her two kids and I was able to see her new baby that she adopted for the very first time since he was born! He is so cute! And then I made the beautiful scenic drive to Park City via Ogden Canyon, and I have been reading Twilight and New Moon the entire time! They have been so addicting it is hard to put them down!!! If you have not read them, you need to! after a couple of chapters I was HOOKED!!!!

Cayden is the oldest nephew and he is so fun! He is my game buddy!

He loves to play card games and board games, UNO and LIFE are the main ones we play.

He is very smart too!

I love to tease him cause he just laughs... He is so sweet and always gives me a hug when I see him!

Mayson

Mayson is 6 and SO FUNNY!!! He makes me laugh so hard till my stomach hurts!!

He loves to play with cars, but Legos and bionicles are his main thing lately!!

He also LOVES stuffed animals! that kid has the most stuffed animals I have ever seen a 6 year old have!!

Ok, Gage is another nephew... He is so funny!!

He LOVES Lightning McQueen and Thomas the Train, but he will play with anything her can drive!!

Gage loves to bully his 2 big brothers, which is so funny to watch, a 3 year old being the BULLY to a 6 year old and a 9 year old!!

He is so sweet and loves to give loves and kisses!!

I figured since I have posted a picture of Max and Keagan, I should post one of Easton too....

Easton is a complete CHEESE!!! it is hard not to laugh at him, especially when he gets mad!

He will sing into anything that he can pretend is a microphone, so he loves when "Aunt Ashley" is in a good mood and lets him play with her REAL microphone...

Easton has also taken after his Great-Grandpa Haws... He recieved a mouth organ from Santa this Christmas, he loves to walk around and play it! He is surprisinlgy good too!!

Easton will find any excuse to show off and be the center of attention, which I LOVE about him!!!

If you don't already know this about me, my nephews and my niece are my pride and joy.... I brag about them and how cute they are.

Ok, I thought of something I could post that is "News" about me....

I have been learning how to cook... now don't laugh too hard, I know, 21 years old and I am just learning... kind of pathetic! But I have been learning and I have been haveing alot of fun and learning how to cook HEALTHY food so that when I am home alone (or when I move out on my own again) my diet won't consist only of tater tots and frozen pizzas (although I must say, my tater tots are better than anyones! I have become the master of the Tater Tots!!)

Ok, so this blog has become a new obsession!

I have had way to much fun playing around and adding things!

So, nothing new has happened to me in the past couple of days... I have just been hanging out with my sister and her CUTE baby Max..... isn't he so yummy??

He is crawling so fast and he loves to spit and make car noises with his tongue!

He has the cutest laugh and my mom and I are excited because his doctor told my sister he is too skinny so we get to fatten him up... ICE CREAM TIME!!! :) Max is a fearless baby! He loves to be thrown into the air and he loves to spin around in circles with Aunt Ashley! (I am his favorite aunt...)

Ok, so my friend Jeanne and my friend (and Jeanne's sister-in-law) Katie are planning on running a marathon this summer, and they asked me to do it with them. I MUST HAVE BEEN TEMPORARILY CRAZY, because I agreed to it. I was supposed to be going to the gym and running on the treadmill to prepare for this, but of course being me, I came up with stupid excuses NOT to go to the gym, and now, starting on Thursday, I have to start running outside with Jeanne and Katie 3 times a week until the marathon, I am so not ready..... WHAT WAS I THINKING????
